Graceful, ascending branches produce new growth of reddish-purple color.  Rosy-pink flowers in April-May.  Flowers at a young age.  Deep green foliage turns yellow-green in fall.  Full sun or light shade.  Grows well in moist soils.  Effective as a small specimen tree.
